NEW! Pro Tools 2025.6 Update

Avid’s Pro Tools 2025.6 is here, packed with new features and updates for both post-production and music users.

Updates to Splice, the enormous sample library, include a new search feature with timeline drag-and-drop functionality. Splice AI can now search its database for similar sounds, making it easier to find complementary material fast.

Non-Lethal Applications’ Cue Pro sees integration updates for foreign-language dubbing and simplifies delivery for engineers working across departments.

For those in the film and broadcast world, MATCHBOX 2.0 brings major upgrades—like Smart-Conform automation that reconforms on a per-clip basis. It also cleans up "conform shrapnel," saves time, and provides side-by-side comparisons of old and new picture versions, with changes highlighted in red.

As an owner and user of not only Pro Tools but also Synchro Arts' VocAlign, I find Pro Tools Sync Vx very intriguing—really looking forward to seeing what Avid has done with this application!

Speaking of speaking... Avid’s new Speech-to-Text, a separately installed, local AI/ML model, can extract words directly from waveforms. This has the potential to make transcribing much easier. They also claim you’ll be able to search across all audio files in a session, among other very interesting features.

And no, they haven’t forgotten about MIDI.

There’s a new MIDI Operations tab that stays in sync in real time between the docked and floating MIDI Editors.

Note Labels is another handy addition—now, instead of just seeing note pitches on the piano roll, you can see what instrument is actually nested there. Nice!

Avid has also rolled out a variety of workflow improvements, including:

• Enhancements to Playlist editing

• Native support for Apple Silicon in the Video Engine

• Increased mixer accuracy, especially for Trim and VCA automation during critical playback

• Dolby Atmos ADM Export Thinning to save gigabytes of data

• A new Mute SAFE feature

• An updated Session Dashboard

Pro Tools 2025.6 is now available for all Pro Tools customers on an active subscription or perpetual license with current Upgrade Plan, as well as all Pro Tools Intro users.
